Fitting Guide for Wheel Spacers & Shims

This guide assumes that the work will be carried out by a competent person that has the equipment and knowledge to remove and safely re-fit a wheel and as such your new spacers/shims are easy to fit at home in just 8 simple steps.

If you have any doubts about your ability to fit these parts, please use a professional mechanic.

NEVER USE AN IMPACT SOCKET GUN. ALWAYS USE HAND TOOLS.

Before You Start

  1. Check that you have received the correct parts. Please contact us if anything is missing or you have received the wrong parts.
  2. Check all bolts are the correct thread and same length.
  3. Check that you have the correct bolt seat for your wheels.
  4. Measure the hub spigot lengths – 10mm, 12mm and 15mm wheel spacers do not fit all vehicles.

Remember to measure the hub spigot lengths.
1

Step 1

Simply unbolt your wheel and remove.

2

Step 2

Wire brush and wipe the wheel hub, bore and face of the wheel clean (they must be free of damage, paint, dirt and rust.)

3

Step 3

Apply a little copper grease (or similar) around the spigot on the hub to stop the spacer sticking to the hub.

4

Step 4

Slide the spacer onto the vehicle’s hub. If you are fitting shim spacers, mount the chamfered side to the hub and logo side to the wheel.

5

Step 5

Check that the spacer is sitting flush/flat against the hub with no visible gap or rocking movement.

IF THEY ARE NOT SITTING FLUSH, REMOVE THE SPACERS. DO NOT MOUNT THE WHEEL.
6

Step 6

Gently position the wheel onto the spacer spigot, taking care not to damage the machined surface.

7

Step 7

Secure the wheel with the extended wheel bolts and torque them to the vehicle/wheel manufacturer's specification.

8

Step 8

While the vehicle is still jacked up, rotate the wheels to check that each wheel is rotating freely and not catching.

Please note: refunds will not be offered on any spacers that have been used or fitted.
